Rust removing method of steel pipe

There are about 5 ways to remove rust from steel pipes. They are cleaning, pickling, ejecting and rust removing.

1.Cleaning

The cleaning method is the use of solvent, emulsion cleaning steel surface, in order to achieve the removal of oil, grease, dust, lubricants and other similar organic compounds, but it can not remove rust, scale, welding of steel surface, so in the anti-corrosion operation only as a supplementary means. The operation of this method is relatively simple, and many steel pipe manufacturers are using it.

2.Spray rust removal

The spray derusting is driven by jet blades to rotate at a high speed high power motor, so that the steel shot, steel, wire section, abrasive minerals under the centrifugal force of motor under the powerful on pipe surface spray treatment, not only can completely remove the oxide, rust and dirt, and steel tube in abrasive blast and friction force, but also to reach the uniform roughness.

It can not only expand the physical adsorption on the surface of the tube, but also enhance the mechanical adhesion between the anticorrosion layer and the tube surface. Therefore, spray rust removal is an ideal way to remove rust in pipeline anticorrosion. Generally, the shot peening is mainly used for the internal surface treatment of the tube, and the pellet removal is mainly used for the treatment of the outer surface of the steel tube.

3. Pickling

The general acid pickling process has two ways, chemical and electrolysis. Pipeline corrosion is only treated by chemical acid washing, which removes oxide scale, rust and old coating. Sometimes it can be used as reprocessing after sandblasting and rust removal. Although chemical cleaning can make the surface achieve a certain degree of cleanliness and roughness, it is easy to cause pollution to the surrounding environment.

4. tool rust removal

The steel pipe surface can be grinned with steel wire brush and other tools, which can remove loose oxide skin, rust, slag and so on. The rust removal of manual tools can reach Sa2 level, and the rust removal of power tools can reach Sa3 level. If the iron oxide surface is firmly attached to the steel tube, the rust removing effect of the tools will not be ideal.
